How to Use (Stepby-Step Guide)


Before you begin, you will need a WiFi bird box camera that is Alexa-compatible and connected to the internet, an Amazon Alexa Show device, and the Alexa app installed on your phone or tablet.

Step 1: Install the Camera

The first step is to install the bird box camera inside the birdhouse. The camera comes with a mounting bracket that you can attach to the inside of the bird box. Once the bracket is securely in place, you can attach the camera to it.



Step 2: Connect the Camera to WiFi

The next step is to connect the camera to your WiFi network. To do this, you will need to download the Smart Life app (important!) and follow the instructions provided to add your camera to the app. Once the camera is connected to your WiFi network, you can access it from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet.

Note: The Green Backyard App is not compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant.



Step 3: Connect the Camera to Alexa

To connect the camera to Alexa, you will need to enable the skill on your Alexa app. Open the Alexa app on your phone and select “More” at the bottom right, then select “Skills & Games”. Next, search for “Smart Life” and Click “Enable To Use”. Now you will be re-directed to the prompt to “Link Smart life account with Alexa” and click “Agree and Link”. Once the skill is enabled, you can use your voice to control the camera. For example, you can ask Alexa to show you the live feed of your bird box or turn on the audio on your Fire TV.

Note: To display the footage on a Google TV, you need to download “Google Home” on your phone, select “Works with Google”, and the rest will be the same.



Step 4: Enjoy Birdwatching

Now that your bird box camera is set up, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy watching your birds. You can use your voice to control the camera and get real-time updates on your bird’s activities.
